Current Role: Graphic & Web Designer, Longhand Data
The role is very varied and uses many of the design skills I have acquired. All marketing and promotional materials for the company are designed by me including packaging, user guides, leaflets and business cards amongst others. I also design print materials for the company’s clients including logos, packaging, and user guides. I act as webmaster for the company website and design websites for Longhand’s clients and for parent company Leavesley International.
The role also involves designing paper forms for Digital Pen & Paper technology. The forms vary in size from single pages to 20+ page booklets. Designing the forms requires advanced skills in print, typography, layout and information design. Limited by paper size I must design and organise elements efficiently ensuring the forms are easy to read and use. As well as designing the forms I have spent time training clients in the use of the technology.
The clients I have worked with whilst in the position have been from a variety of backgrounds - from healthcare and IT to farming and environmental services. This has given me great knowledge in designing in a variety of styles and formats and for various brand identities. I am responsible for managing my own time and meeting deadlines as well as liaising with clients on a daily basis.
